Find a place to stay on the Coast Path
Along the coast of Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset there are lots of places to stay within easy reach of the Coast Path.
To find somewhere to stay simply click on the blue 'Accommodation Finder' button on the right, then select the part of the Path you are looking to stay near. The B&Bs, hotels, guest houses, camping and other accommodation providers shown are all supporting the South West Coast Path as Way Makers
Most walkers stay in Bed & Breakfast accommodation, but in many places you have a wider choice ranging from luxury hotels to budget hostel accommodation. Alternatively, book a holiday cottage or a campsite and use that as a base from which to explore the surrounding coastline.
Summer holidays and Bank Holiday weekends can be very busy, so book well in advance, although even at the last minute you can generally find somewhere to stay in the larger towns and villages. If you come in spring or autumn you’ll have greater flexibility and these are great months to enjoy walking along the coast.
Walker friendly B&B's, Hotels, Hostels and Camping
If you are planning a multi-day trip walking the Path the best place to start your search for places to stay is by using our Accommodation Finder and our Complete Guide to the South West Coast Path.
This lists hundreds of places to stay close to the Path, many of whom are willing to take walkers for a single night. As many of these establishments are small, they are not all inspected or graded by an official tourism organisation, but if multiple complaints are received, they will be informed.
If you want to camp, there are plenty of official campsites close to the Coast Path. There is no right to wild camp beside the Path unless you ask the landowner before pitching (sorry, we can’t help you find out who that is!).
