Every Mile Matters (EMM) is the South West Coast Path Association’s flagship campaign March 2024 - March 2025, and the focus for our social media activity, targeted press coverage, spokespeople, events and other public-facing work during this period. There are fantastic opportunities for businesses who choose to partner with us on EMM, from brand association and PR opportunities, to employee engagement and celebrating local provenance.  Contact us at [email protected] to find out how you can join the movement.

What is Every Mile Matters about?

Every Mile Matters is a campaign calling for people to act now to protect the South West Coast Path, a much-loved natural resource at the heart of our community. We want to increase the Path’s resilience against an onslaught of extreme weather brought about by climate change. We want to conserve the Trail’s rich biodiversity, distinct cultural heritage and demonstrate the real, positive impact it has on people’s health and wellbeing. We want to help the south west business community recover from the devastating effects the coronavirus outbreak has had on tourism. Our vision is to see the South West Coast Path not only survive, but thrive – benefiting everyone in society regardless of how old they are, where they come from or what their background is. But we can’t do it alone.

What is our track record?

We have enjoyed successful partnerships with many well known brands over the years, from St Austell Brewery,Great Western Railway, Luxury Coastal, Warrens Bakery to Seasalt Cornwall. Meet our current sponsors here.

We foster personal, trusting and fun relationships with our partners. Although we are a small organisation with less than 10 full-time members of staff, we pride ourselves on our excellent account management. You will have a dedicated point of contact, committed to helping you get as much as possible from working with the charity. Depending on the level of support you offer the Trail, you will also receive a yearly visit from us so we can review and plan our activity together.

We work particularly well with organisations that share our core values:

  • Caring: looking after the Path, the people who use it and those who work to support it.

  • Collaborative: working in partnership to protect the Path, achieving more than by working alone.

  • Motivating: increasing information and advice, supporting and encouraging all those who want to enjoy the Coast Path.

  • Passionate: advocating for this national treasure, helping promote the South West coast.

  • Open: being honest, fair, ethical and transparent in the way we work.

  • Sustainable: working with a light footprint to protect our coastal environment now and for future generations.

  • Excellence: doing things well.
