Our supporters

At the South West Coast Path Association, we are really lucky to have a huge range of supporters who help us to deliver our promises and look after the Path, conserving it for future generations and promoting it for the enjoyment of everyone. Ways that we are supported are shown below and we always welcome new supporters of all kinds.

We have a membership base of over 6,000 dedicated South West Coast Path lovers, a handful of these members have been supporting us since the very beginning in 1973. Some are individual members and some joint, we also have a number who live overseas and want to enable us to continue the good work from afar. Whatever the reason for being a member, you are always welcome. Find out more.

Partner Charity

The National Trust is our charity partner and we are working closely together to promote and protect the Coast Path with a Collaboration Agreement that sets out the terms of this partnership.

The National Trust owns approximately a third of the Coast Path, the route of which provides the linking thread between some of its most treasured coastal properties.

It costs approximately £1,400 per mile per year to look after the Coast Path. With funding in significant decline from Natural England, the joint fundraising efforts of the association and our partners has become increasingly important for the future of the Coast Path.

Business Supporters

The Association is also supported by business sponsors, including South West Water who have been supporting the work of the Association since 2014. Also supporting us are Beach Retreats, Forthglade and Devon & Cornwall Holidays, who are all Silver Sponsors.

We also have a number of other business supporters who can be found here.

Business Members

We are lucky enough to have a range of local businesses who support us through our business membership scheme, which offers advertising for businesses on our website and a listing in our Complete Guide to the South West Coast Path

To ensure that these businesses continue to support or advertise with us, please try and use them so that they find their support for us worthwhile.

We also have a core group of volunteers who have positions such as Trustee, Area Rep and Local Rep, these volunteers are vital in the Association’s work and their help and dedication is often unseen but never unappreciated. Find out more about how to get involved here.
