Short breaks

There are some fantastic walks on offer in the Westcountry, particularly along the coastline, as you can see from the many photos of beautiful locations on this website.

All this and more is what makes walking the South West Coast Path such a great way to spend your holiday. It really can take you to some amazing places, some of which can only be reached on foot.

They say it's not the destination but the journey that counts and one way to enhance your Coast Path adventure is to arrive by train. See our travel pages for more information about getting to and getting around the South West by train.

The easiest way to book a short holiday is to stay in one place, and do a series of day walks. You’ll find details of hundreds of these walks on the website, so you’re sure to find something that suits you – use our Walk Finder (the magnifying glass at the top of the page) to narrow down the choice.

Alternatively if you’d like to walk a longer stretch of the Coast Path stopping in a different place each night, we’ve a range of suggested short itineraries that start and finish at places where it’s easy to get to. To find out more, choose from the list below how long you want to go away for.
