Getting Around by Car
Car parks are readily available at all coastal towns along the South West Coast Path. At more remote locations along the Coast Path, you will find informal car parks, normally managed by landowners including the National Trust or Parish Councils.
Some car parks are free, but there are normally charges (Pay & Display, staffed ticket kiosk, honesty box). Some also have an option to pay over the phone if needed. However, we always recommend having some spare change just in case.
Driving directions can be obtained from the Google Map links on each walks page, and where possible we’ve included Postcodes of car parks for use by sat navs. Use our Walk Finder tool below to find hundreds of walks along the South West Coast Path.
Many accommodation providers such as B&Bs, hotels, and campsites offer car parking, but please do check the details of this directly with your accommodation provider. You can browse businesses linked to the Path via our Accommodation, Eat & Drink and Do finder below.
If you are planning to walk for two days or more, you will need to arrange longer-term car parking. Our Baggage Transfers providers have details of those places that can offer long-term parking, but you are advised to confirm this with the proprietor when booking.
You can find information regarding taxis at specific areas along the Path by visiting out Ferries and Estuaries page.
