The Completer's Page
Walking the entire path is an amazing achievement and perhaps the UK’s ultimate challenge for the long distance walker. It is rated as one of the world's greatest walks - a 630-mile adventure around the coastline of the southwest peninsula.
Although a tough walk – in completing it you will have climbed and descended over 115,000 feet, the equivalent of almost 4 Mount Everests, you don’t have to be super fit to do it. Whilst a few hardy souls walk it from end to end in a single trip, most people split it into day walks and short breaks spread over several years.
We’ve set up a Facebook page called the South West Coast Path Hall of Fame to highlight some of the wonderful stories from those who have completed it. If you’ve walked all 630 miles of the Path, we’d love to hear about your experience so please do post your stories, tips and pictures here.
On completion, members of the South West Coast Path Association can get a badge and a certificate. Non-members can get the badge and a certificate at a cost of £5 plus p&p (approximately £1).
If you’ve completed the Path and would like a badge and a certificate, all you have to do is email the South West Coast Path Association with the following details:
• Name
• Address (only your town, county or country will be shown on the website, but we need the full details to post the badge to)
• A short description that sums up your experience of the walk.
• A photo, and a brief explanation of the highlight of your walk – this doesn’t have to be of you at the end markers.
