Route changes
Speke's Mill
The bridge at Speke’s Mill has been washed away and there is no access across the watercourse. There is an alternative route using Public Footpaths to Milford shown by the purple line on the map below.
From the Hartland quay side, continue up the track, (pass the junction to the bridge) keep heading in land, (east) towards Docton Mill and Lymebridge. Once at the road turn left and follow the path towards Docton Mill/and Milford. The next footpath on your right will take you back down to the coast path, though this is quite a testing path, you may wish to continue to the next footpath (shown pink on the map), about 200m further on, (again on the right) as this route is a bit easier.
If coming from the Cornwall side, at the junction with footpath 19/20 signed by a finger post turn east and follow the routes, continue straight on for the difficult route, or bear right to take the easier option (shown pink on the map). With both paths, when you reach the road turn left, pass Docton Mill and then turn left at the track, (there is a short spur of 18 signed on the left after Docton Mill) but this can be wet) we would recommend staying on the road until the main track on your left.
