A short section of the South West Coast Path has been diverted at Little Dartmouth. This is due to coastal erosion near to Compass Cove. An alternative route is in place to bypass the hazardous section of cliff. This alternative route is shown by a dashed blue line on the plan.

Volunteers working for the charity that champions the South West Coast Path have been recognised through The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2024. This is the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. The organisation was founded by volunteers over 50 years ago and they still play a vital role in looking after this world-class trail.
On Thursday 26th September the South West Coast Path International Friendship Trail was opened at Maple Cross Nature Reserve, Cape Chin in Canada.
