Coast Path Connectors Torbay
“Hi, I’m Tracy and I engage with the Torbay community. In Torbay we currently have walks ranging from gentle, supporting those on illness recovery with wellness walking, through to more difficult terrain, for those who like a challenge, and there is more to come. I am passionate about enabling everyone to enjoy the coast path and surrounding areas, so please get in touch to find out how you can get involved.”
Community organisations we work with:
- Live Longer Better
- Diabetes UK
- The Lodge, Torbay Hospital
- Coleton Fishacre - National Trust
- Brixham Theatre Volunteers
- NHS - Fatigue Management
The below video introduces you to some Torbay walkers, who are exploring the Coast Path at nearby Teignmouth. It introduces you to Stuart, the former Coast Path Connectors Project Officer and one of the volunteers Tracy. Since filming the video, Stuart left SWCPA to take up an amazing community engagement opportunity with one of our partners, but Tracy has progressed from volunteer to staff member. Training volunteers in walk leading skills has been an essential part of the project so that walking can continue in the future, and also it supports volunteers in their future careers.

Accessibility
Each walk has been planned to be appropriate for the walking group and participants’ needs. We will always let participants know where the nearest toilets are, the terrain, steepness, steps on route, and distance. We aim to make our walks as accessible as we can. Please do get in contact if you need further information before the walk, to check that it is suitable for your individual needs.
