Young amateur photographer wins competition with a shot that took three years to perfect

Seventeen-year-old Josef FitzGerald-Patrick from near Land’s End has been announced the winner of the South West Coast Path Association’s annual photography competition. The winning photograph, which beat over 4,800 other entries, shows a firework display held at Land’s End in August last year and took the budding photographer three years to perfect.

Recent storm damage update

The wet and stormy weather during January and February has taken its toll on the South West Coast Path. Whilst the vast majority of the 630 miles of Coast Path is unaffected (other than being more muddy in places than normal) some of the cliff falls have meant that sections of the Path have had to be diverted inland.
