Walk - Newquay & Fistral from Crantock
4.5 miles (7.2 km)
Crantock Car Park - TR8 5RB Crantock Car Park
Moderate - Sandy footpaths (may be muddy or wet), quiet roads and pavements. Some ascent and descent with steps at Fern Pit.
A walk of contrasts, linking the pastoral tranquility of Crantock with the coastal features of Newquay's vibrant shoreline. People have lived here since prehistoric times and the walk visits many sites of historical interest on both sides of the River Gannel, once a bustling waterway but now a peaceful saltmarsh, home to wading birds and salt-loving plants. Be sure to check the tides before you leave.
See the Fern Pit Ferry website for more information, including tide tables
