Walk - Dyer's Lookout from Hartland Quay Hotel
6.5 miles (10.5 km)
Hartland Quay Car Park - EX39 6DU Hartland Quay Car Park
Challenging - There are some short stretches of steep ascent and descent and some of the paths may be muddy.
Rounding the coast at Dyer's Lookout, this walk travels inland along the Abbey River to “The Cathedral of North Devon”, St Nectan's Church, dedicated to the fifth century Celtic saint whose holy well is also featured. Looping through peaceful woodland widely acclaimed for its snowdrops, bluebells and primroses, the route passes the British Geological Society's Magnetic Observatory before leading on to the many delights of a picturesque settlement whose roots go back to Saxon times.
