Walk - St Anthony Head
5.1 miles (8.2 km)
National Trust Porth car park - TR2 5EX Porth car park
Moderate - Follows coastal path and inland footpaths, with a certain amount of ascent and descent, though none of it is steep or protracted
At Carrick Roads the rivers Fal and Truro flow together out to sea, and it is one of Britain's best deep-water anchorages. Falmouth Harbour itself is one of the world's best natural harbours of its kind, and the spectacular views all the way around St Anthony Head have made it an area of tremendous strategic importance throughout history. Allow time to visit the some of the wartime remains on the headland.
