Our Projects - Nanjizel

The Nanjizel section of coast path is located at Mill Bay (Nanjizel) near to Land's End. This popular section of coast path predominantly consists of maritime heath on granite based geology. The steep nature of the valleys in this area means that often the coast path is subject to erosion, brading and areas of poaching caused by walkers looking for easier alternatives than the eroded walked route. The nature of the landscape means that even the smallest erosion problems are visible from a distance. The aim of this project was two fold 1. Deal with the aesthetic problems created by the erosion 2. Provide a better walking surface for walkers Steps and Granite stepping stones have provided a clear surface for walkers. Additional drainage ditches and cut offs have been cut. Benefits from this project include improved access to the beach at Nanjizel from Land's End.
