Mapboards & Walk Leaflets

For larger tourism businesses, a great way of letting your guests know about local walks is to have a South West Coast Path map board, which has details of 3 or 4 walks that start from your establishment. These are accompanied by leaflets which give details of the walk which can be sold or given to your guests, and can also be quickly and easily downloaded onto a smartphone.

These boards are A1 sized (59.4 x 84.1cm, 23.39 x 33.11 inches) but can be made any size, and are printed as weatherproof panels that can be mounted either on a wall or a plinth. 

So far the SW Coast Path Team have produced over 100 of these boards located in campsites, holiday parks, pubs and hotels all around the path, and for examples, click of the links below:

The cost of these panels with accompanying leaflet is generally £500+VAT, based on us already having nearby walks on our website that can easily be customised to suit your guests. If we don’t have suitable walks (from the 500+ we already have written), then we will quote for how much it will be to reserach and write the additional walks. If you have leaflets, then there is a small annual fee to cover the cost of the mapping licence, currently £50 / year, which can by recouped by selling the leaflets .

Alongside providing map boards, we would also explore with you whether the paths require any work to bring them up to the standard your guests would expect (e.g. sorting out any muddy, difficult or poorly signposted sections) and how this work can be funded – this is when we would be looking at project sponsorship or ways in which contributions can be raised from your guests.

If your business hasn’t the space for a Mapboard, then there are other ways you can provide similar information about local walks to your guests. For instance we can provide QR codes which link to a bespoke webpage giving details of walks that start at your business, that could be put in brochures, or on beer mats, menus or paper placemats.
