The Riviera line
The Riviera Line offers great scenic train journeys along the South Devon coast between Exeter and Paignton.
The train is an ideal way to enjoy a walk in South Devon. Take in a picturesque harbour, stride out along the exhilarating coast or relax beside a stunning river estuary. Towns such as Torquay, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Paignton are traditional seaside resorts that grew massively in popularity thanks to the building of the railway in the mid-1800s.
Enjoy 3 varied walks. Either walk the Exe Valley Trail and visit a castle estate, or stroll to a gentle harbour or take a river crossing to see a Geoneedle.
Visit an internationally important Nature Reserve, walk along a famous sea wall or amble the Exe Valley Trail to a gentle harbour.
Walk along Britain's most photographed stretch of railway line, or wander along the Dawlish Town Trail through the attractive Old Town or take an easy walk along the sea wall to Dawlish Warren.
Take in the pretty village of Shaldon crossing the Teign by ferry, walk along Britain's most photographed stretch of railway line or challenge yourself to a walk with lots of ascent and descent. The stunning coastal views in all directions make it worth the effort.
Due to their close proximity, the walks from this station are the same as the walks from Torquay Station. All walks start from Torquay Station. Come out of Torre Station and turn right down Avenue Road. Turn right along Falkland Road to reach Torquay Station.
Take in the historic, picturesque village of Cockington, visit some of the places that were inspirational in the life and works of the great writer or follow the coast path as it explores some hidden parts of Torquay. The walks from this station are the same as the walks from Torre Station due to their close proximity.
