Photo journalists - Create a story for the path
We want you to help us tell the story of 'A day in the life of the South West Coast Path'. Our friends at the Western Morning News have offered us a two page spread to include up to eight photographs along with an editorial - a photo essay. We could do this ourselves of course but where's the fun in that? We're asking for help from Coast Path enthusiasts with photo journalism skills to produce this with us.

Would you like to see your work in print? Apart from our gratitude, we can’t offer any payment, but the benefits you'll receive will be the publication of your photo essay as well as the knowledge that you are helping to promote one of the UK's best loved walking trails.
Interested? Then read on....
This visual insider’s guide to a day on the South West Coast Path will include glimpses of secret beaches, fun in the sun, sea and surf as well as best loved stop off places to eat and drink - all the aspects of walking along and near the path that makes it such a fantastic day out. What's your story? A long walk with the dog maybe, taking in headland views, being inspired by the natural abundance all around you. We want action, people, wildlife, landscapes, splashing around and quirky unexpected shots. We want you to take the images and then build them into a photographic story accompanied by your own words.
To gauge what we and the Western Morning News are looking for, you can see a pdf example of a previous feature here (this is a 6mb pdf download). We need 20 images to choose from along with around 400 words that we'll edit along with you for the for the final piece.
We will also select some photographs, from those photo journalists not selected for the photo essay, and publish them on Flickr and to a special Pinterest board. We get asked for photographs relating to the Coast Path by local, regional and national press every week.
