I am delighted to have joined the SWCPA team. I moved to the south west in 1990, living in Plymouth then Exeter, fell in love with region and have never left. I’ve worked in the coastal/maritime industry my whole life, firstly at the UK Hydrographic Office and now run the regional coastal monitoring programme for the south west of England.
My professional training is a chartered surveyor, which has turned me into a consummate trig pillar hunter. I bring to the Board a knowledge of location data, mapping and the coastal environment of the south west. I have run my own company, been involved in governance at all levels in business and am really keen to listen to how we can further enhance the coast path experience.
I walked the South West Coast Path in my 40s. I tackled it in days/long weekends and each time I returned to my last spot, turned to have the sea on my right and stepped out, my mind and body relaxing into a familiar and relaxing space. Having such a beautiful and local coastal path is a treasure. I am honoured to be part of it, helping promote and protect it for us now and the future.
