Katie Ash

I joined the Board of the SWCPA in 2022 as a co-opted Trustee. I am now standing for election at the 2024 AGM.  I am very proud to be Cornish and grew up overlooking the Southwest Coast Path.  I have completed several sections of the path and am looking forward, at some point in my busy life, to completing all of the path.  I very much enjoyed joining the 50th celebration walk recently. 

In my professional life I am a Public Health Consultant and have a Master’s in Public Health.  I work as a senior leader within the local government and health system, and hope to bring this knowledge and experience to my role as a trustee of the Association.  I have expertise across a range of health topics, including children and young people’s health, mental health, ageing well, cancer prevention and substance misuse. We know how powerful nature can be to improve health and wellbeing and I am keen that more people, from all walks of life, get to enjoy the path. 

Since being co-opted to the Board of Trustees I have joined the Path Committee and I am enjoying gaining a greater understanding of the association, how it runs and how we can build upon the work of the last 50 years to ensure the path remains intact for future generations.
