Our Projects - Gwithian Towans GSWW
A short section of the South West Coast Path (SWCP) at Gwithian Towans is very heavily used, mainly because it also provides access to the beach from the main car park. Due to its location below the car park and area of chalets the path also receives a large amount of surface water during times of heavy rainfall. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the project reinstated the surface of the path, both to make it easier and safer for people to walk on and to improve the drainage to reduce future water erosion. Two sections of post and rail fence have been replaced and re-aligned to restore their safety function.
