Our Projects - Polridmouth and Coombe

The circular walk from Fowey to Pridmouth and back inland via Coombe farm is an extremely popular one for both visitors staying in Fowey and for locals. This project has improved and raised the safety of two sections of this walk, one on the South West Coast Path itself on the stretch just before Pridmouth Beach and the other at Coombe Farm by the National Trust car park. Work completed has included:- Wholly inadequate stile on the eastern entrance to Polridmouth woods replaced with a self closing gate hung on the original granite gatepost 10 hardwood step/retaining boards with steel pins drilled into the rock with 100m of stone surfacing on the SWCP running through the woods. Section of the track adjacent to Coombe Car Park has been re-profiled, a drain installed where the water was previously trapped and then surfaced with stone
