Our Projects - Thurlestone Golf Course path improvements

The extreme storms of 2014 washed away a stretch of the small road that formed the South West Coast Path alongside Thurlestone Golf Course. With the opportunity for some funding to carry out the works from the Coastal Communities Fund, Devon County Council negotiated an alternative route with the Golf Club, who have generously allowed a new Path to be cut over a corner of their land. This saved many thousands of pounds, as the alternative was to construct steps to Meadfoot Beach at a cost in excess of £30,000.
