Our Projects - St Ives to Clodgy improvements

This project was one of the largest in the South West Coast Path Association’s Coastal Communities Fund portfolio. Cornwall Council commissioned CORMAC Contracting Ltd to carry out the work.

This extremely well used section of the Path has had a very resilient surface installed, as well as considerable lengths of safety fencing to keep walkers away from the unstable cliff edge, the installation of pipework and new ditches to improve the drainage, and divert water away from the Path.

The initial specification for the Project was enhanced as the work got underway to meet unforeseen issues, and to ensure that the quality of the Path is able to withstand the large number of users walking from St Ives.
