Our Projects - Phillack Dunes Flood Risks averted
The Car Park and Café at Phillack suffered from flooding at times of heavy rain, and the storms of 2014 compounded the problem, and a 6 foot deep gulley was washed out along the line of the Path.
The Coastal Communities Fund grant paid for a bund to be installed around the car park, to protect the café and define the car park edge. The gulley was filled in and the Path resurfaced and new steps were installed, with a drainage outlet included to carry away rainwater, and the fencing protecting the Dunes repaired.
The work was carried out by CORMAC Contracting with support from Cornwall Council, with the grant achieved by the South West Coast Path Association.
