Our Projects - Brownsham Car Park

Brownsham is a small car park north-west of Clovelly on a fairly remote section of the coast of North Devon. The South West Coast Path is fed from the car park by two leader paths that are well used throughout the year and provide one of only a few access points to the SWCP in the area. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the project was able to remove turf and resurface car park, to level the 2 feeder/link paths and then to surface both paths. This would increase the size of the parking area, provide a better surface that is now less muddy and would have removed pot holes. The path is now better as erosion has taken place over the years.
