Our Projects - Weston Plats Discovery Point

The aim of this project was to tell the story of a vanished way of life, that of the cliff farmers on the undercliff between Branscombe and Sidmouth. This remarkable agricultural system involved farming the very steep undercliff in small fields called ‘plats’ with all access to and from them being along narrow cliff paths using donkeys to transport the crops of potatoes and flower bulbs.
