Our Projects - Penberth & Tregiffian
The two steep sided valleys at Penberth and Tregiffian in West Cornwall were suffering from erosion, due to the steepness and narrowing of the path. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the project has widened the South West Coast Path on the Western slopes of Penberth, installing water breaks and revetment to the crumbling edges. The Eastern section of this path has seen additional granite steps to combat the erosion. The Tregiffian section has had 26 granite steps installed on the steepest section which will prevent further erosion in the future.
