Our Projects - Morte Point path improvements

This project involved two separated stretches of the South West Coast Path on Morte Point near Woolacombe in North Devon. The first stretch used to become very slippery in wet conditions so we have excavated a metre wide footpath and surfaced it with shillet to provide a more secure all weather footing. The second stretch was very rocky and badly eroded in parts. The rock has been dug off and the stretch resurfaced with shillet to provide more of an even surface to on which to walk. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the project was completed.
