Our Projects - Babbacombe Steps

The South West Coast Path from Oddicombe Beach in Torbay to the Cary Arms is a very popular section and acts as an important link between the beach and wider countryside. The Project’s aims were to dramatically improve this section by carrying out much needed re-surfacing on a section that has suffered from poor drainage and infrastructure that was dated and becoming unstable. New steps were created using Oak sleepers that were dressed with limestone. The old Victorian pipe works have been re-sealed and capped which now means the water runs under the path.
