Our Projects - Gunwalloe to Church Cove near Mullion

Just to the north west of Mullion in Cornwall the South West Coast Path leading away from Church Cove towards Craig-a-bella needed a major diversion due to constant erosion. The bottom of the path where it met the beach became scoured and narrow during the winter storms. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, it has been repaired and built up again this year and many times over the past few winters using stone available near the site, only to be washed away again. This section needed to be further back, away from the high tide level, and out of the reach of winter storms. Steps needed to be installed here, due to the slope, as well as drainage pipes under the path.
