Our Projects - Church Cove

At Church Cove on the Lizard, unprecedented rainfall in November 2012 resulted in storm flow, for which a culvert taking the stream under the South West Coast Path proved to be inadequate. The overtopping of the culvert contributed to erosion and the flooding of 3 residential properties below. Following consultation with all neighbours, it was agreed that the ground above the culvert would be remodelled to ensure any storm flow in future flows back into the stream, rather than diverting through gardens and properties. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, this project was succesfully completed.
