Our Projects - Purbeck walks & waymarkers

This project has been implemented to enhance the circular routes that had been previously publicized on an Interpretation Board at Tom's Field Langton Matravers. 5 leaflets have also been produced. 12 self-closing stock proof gates have been installed by the Coastal Ranger Team replacing some very dilapidated stiles, 3 located on the Kimmeridge circular route. The installation of the gates at the Langton Matravers end inadvertently encouraged one of the farmers to replace some of the fencing so the project immediately initiated local help without any more cost to this project. Each new post now gives the site grid reference, route status (right of way) and the destinations with mileage. Each of the routes received a new identity through individual disc shaped waymarkers.
