Our Projects - Croyde Coast Path improved surface
Approximately 280 metres of the South West Coast Path has been resurfaced along the edge of Moor Lane, Croyde. This is an extremely busy section of the coastpath used by coastpath walkers and many thousands of Beach goers, especially in the summer months. The surface has been profiled with a gentle camber so surface water drains to the edge. This was achieved by installing edging boards, fresh scaplings laid on the surface, raked out and then compacted using a vibro roller. In the future, after heavy rain, water will now drain off the path and not sit in large puddles. Previously, this used to lead people to skirt the edges in muddy tracks.
