Our Projects - Lansallos Village

Situated between Polperro and Fowey in Cornwall there is a network of definitive and permissive routes from Lansallos village to the South West Coast Path. The coast path then gives access to the beaches and coves in the locality. A number of the routes were, however, in a poor state, or difficult to use in wet conditions as the paths became very muddy. There were a number of stiles which were not easy for less agile walkers to use. The way-marking of a number of the routes was poor. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the improvements undertaken by this project included 4 new bridges, improved accessibility of 5 traditional stiles, the installation of 6 new way-markers and the installation of 4 new local-style self-closing gates.
