Our Projects - Predannack Gates
The South West Coast Path at Predannack near Mullion, on the Lizard, passes through a number of grazing compartments, where cattle and ponies help to manage these important coastal habitats for the benefit of wildlife. These boundary crossing points had been stiles, which although stock-proof, could prove difficult to negotiate for the less nimble walker. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, three stiles have been replaced with pedestrian gates, and the boundaries either side made good with post and rail and barbed wire fencing. The hedge ends have been reinstated with traditional local stone hedging.
