Our Projects - Porthmeor clapper bridge
The original clapper bridge across the stream at Porthmeor valley in West Cornwall has been severely damaged by storm water and has become unsafe to use. A temporary wooden bridge has been made to allow continued access but it quickly became apparent that a replacement, permanent bridge was required. A 18 foot slab of granite was acquired and winched and lifted into place sitting firmly on rebuilt granite edging to provide a replacement bridge.
