Our Projects - Broom Parc and Lowlands

Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, this project comprised the renewal of two sets of steps. One is situated on the South West Coast Path near Broom Parc and the other on a popular link to the South West Coast Path close to the Place Ferry Jetty opposite St Mawes. The existing tanalised timber risers forming the steps of both flights are showing significant signs of rot and a number of risers have already collapsed, making the steps difficult and awkward to use. Using National Trust staff and volunteers to undertake the work, it is proposed to replace all the existing risers with new hardwood timber risers, held in place with substantial steel bars. The Broom Parc flight comprises approximately 20 risers and Lowlands comprises a series of short flights totalling approximately 30 risers.
