Our Projects - Pollyjoke near Crantock

Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, this project improved and renewed 20 metres of collapsing boardwalk on the South West Coast Path at Porthjoke. The aim is to make the coast path more user friendly and safer to use. The new boardwalk has been constructed adjacent to and before the old one was removed so as to retain access at all times without the need for closure or diversion of the path. This project brought about excellent training opportunities for a number of volunteers involved in a complex construction project. There were a number of opportunities to engage with locals and walkers walking past the project. Numerous press releases covered the project including a 3 page spread in Cornwall Today Magazine.
