Our Projects - Top of Clematon Hill near Bigbury

This project for the National Trust in South Devon was to create a new permissive path down the edge of Clematon hill which will improve access to the South West Coast Path by giving walkers a safe path to walk on instead of along the roadside. Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project. this will be a significant improvement for walkers as well as families wishing to access the beach. The work included cutting a 2.5m swathe through the vegetation to enable a 1m wide path to be created. The path was then dressed with 75mm of quarried stone providing a firm level surface to walk along.
