Our Projects - Wembury Coast Path Stories
Thanks to funds raised by the South West Coast Path Association and from the Unlocking our Coastal Heritage project, the project involved installing interpretation panels at six sites alongside the coast path in the South Devon AONB, in Wembury parish, at the following locations: • The Great Mewstone • Yealm estuary • Bovisand Beach (marine life) • Fort Bovisand • Staddon Heights defences • Jennycliff and Plymouth Sound The panels were prepared in discussion with the parish council and local history group, and other local specialists. They seek to provide an insight in to the environment and heritage of the area. The project has significantly improved the information available to walkers on this popular and heavily used section of coast path just east of Plymouth.
