Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Roseland peninsula with well-known hoteliers Alex & Olga Polizzi as part of the South West Coast Path Challenge this October. The walk is being led by Steve Crummay.

Join this ten mile walk from St.Mawes, travelling by ferry to the picturesque Place and explore the beautiful Roseland Peninsula before returning back to the small fishing village of St. Mawes.

Along the way, wildlife expert and walk leader Steve Crummay will be seeking out the Roseland's top ten sights, sounds and flavours from sea birds to edible seaweed.

Steve Crummay is the owner of Explore in Cornwall and a Trustee of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust who has been at the heart of wildlife and conservation management in Cornwall and the south west for more than 30 years.

He has established numerous new nature reserves in Cornwall, worked in otter conservation and created the Tarka Trail in Devon, and has walked, climbed and kayaked in some of the outstanding environments in the world. Over the years, he's been fortunate enough to work with some famous names including Sir Ranulph Feinnes, Tony Soper and the BBC Natural History Unit on many projects.

The combination of his professional qualifications as an ecologist and Mountain Leader make him your ideal guide to discover the wonders of Cornwall’s coast and countryside – if you want to discover Cornwall’s wildlife then spending time with Steve is the way to do it.

This picturesque route goes across the river by ferry and then follows the South West Coast Path around St Anthony Head, then on to Porthmellin Head, Killigerran Head to Gerrans. The group will then follow a short inland track back to Porth Creek and the beautiful Percuil River where we will follow the creek side paths though woodland back to the ferry landing site at Place for the return ferry to St Mawes Quay.
