Hayle - Minor route change
Oct 2015: Coast Path walkers passing through Hayle will notice a considerable improvement to the environment of the Coast Path between the town and the beach. The North Quay, which the Coast Path follows here, has been completely renovated by the harbour owners and Cornwall Council and the previous rather sorry and dilapidated environment here has now been replaced by attractive riverside walkways which makes this length a pleasure to walk.
Walking the Coast Path in an anti-clockwise direction (into Hayle from Godrevy), from the beach and dunes the Coast Path reaches a car park. Follow the access track ahead then bear right onto the raised walkway parallel to the harbour and continue ahead on this level. Descend the steps at the far end and follow the pavement ahead then cross the old railway swing bridge to the town. The Coast Path follows the road to the right.
Walking out of Hayle towards Godrevy, from the town cross the old railway swing bridge, go along the roadside pavement then up the steps ahead and keep along this walkway. Cross the access road towards the far end then follow the track ahead to the car park at Hayle Towans. The Coast Path continues along the track leading to the right.
