Hartland Point (Radar Station): Temporary Path Closure
July 2019: A short section of the South West Coast Path National Trail will be temporarily closed at Hartland Point Radar Station, North Devon. This is to facilitate replacement of the Radome cover (known locally as the ‘golf ball’). The closure notice runs for 21 days between 19 July and the 8 of August 2019 to allow for suitable weather conditions. However, it is expected that the Path will only be closed for one day during this period. The path will be available as normal when works are not underway.
Please note, on the day of the closure there will be a short diversion, which will be manned by construction personnel. The diversion will be very short and only deviate from the line of the path by a few hundred metres, (running to the south of the Radome compound, in a roughly east west direction).
