Coast Path Businesses: Coronavirus Support Hub

UPDATED 02 June

During this period of uncertainty we want to do our bit to support our Business Members who have always shown such commitment to the South West Coast Path. We will be updating this Support Hub over the coming weeks with information and ideas from our Business Community on how to adapt to these unprecedented circumstances.

Your membership matters

We appreciate that this is an extremely difficult time for businesses like yours which rely so heavily on the visitor and tourism economy connected to the Path - particularly at this crucial time of year. As business members, you are extremely important to us and to the South West Coast Path. In recognition of your commitment, we will be doing as much as we possibly can to support you through these testing times by: signposting you to relevant information; enabling us to work together as a business community to support each other; and encouraging our South West Coast Path community of walkers and users to support you in whatever ways they can.

Is the Coastpath open?

Check our general Coronavirus information page which is being regularly updated with our position on walking/running on the Trail.

To avoid putting unnecessary stress on local services, we are urging holidaymakers, second homeowners and campers not to visit the South West during the outbreak. We will be doing all that we can to bring the South West Coast Path into people’s homes virtually at what is a challenging time for us all.

Supporting business

We'll be doing everything we can to encourage our walking community to support local business members however they can during these testing times, including postponing rather than cancelling existing bookings.  If you are struggling with dealing with requests for refunds/cancellations, this statement from Visit Cornwall might help in explaining your situation to customers.
