South West Coast Path Challenge 2018 Highlights

Amazing People,Doing Amazing Things

Now in its fourth year, the South West Coast Path Challenge attracts walkers, runners, ramblers, hikers, foragers, nature lovers and history buffs alike, as a way of coming together to fundraise for this amazing National Trail. This year, we saw hundreds of you lace up your boots or running trainers to join one of our great events or set yourself your own fundraising challenge. The Square and Compass Runners ran 120 miles over 3 days

The community running club based out of the Square and Compass Pub challenged themselves to relay run the Jurassic Coast section of the Coast Path from Exmouth to South Haven Point over a long weekend!

Devon Tourism said thank you to the Devon Coast Path

Devon’s Top Attractions and other tourism businesses came together to collectively walk the 240 mile stretch of the Devon Coast Path (North and South) during October. As the Path is well-known for being a major pull for tourists who flock to the South West, Devon’s Top Attractions and other tourism businesses are showing their support with true #TeamDevon spirit.

A Dorset group of family and friends became the 'Beer Coasters'

...and walked/crawled/laughed/cried the hilly Coast Path from Sidmouth to Beer on a chilly October Saturday!

East Devon District Council showed their support

These happy chappies are the East Devon District Council Countryside staff. As a team, they signed up to walk 22 miles along the South West Coast Path from Exe to Axe! Cllr Tom Wright told us why him and his awesome team wanted to join in with Challenge: “The Path provides outstanding opportunities to experience nature, adventure and supports positive health and wellbeing." We couldn't agree more!”

30 of South Devon's Ramblers took a sunny hike

...from Torquay Harbour to Brixham on Saturday October 20th, raising a brilliant £205!

Devon Life Magazine swapped the office for the trail

Our friends at Devon Life  gathered together 12 of their team to walk from Babbacombe to Teignmouth. They've managed to raise over £350!

The Plymouth Coastal Runners ran a collective 959 miles

...raising an epic £800! 64 participants took part in the October Time Trial, with James Yeoman and Jenni Everson topping the leader boards!
