Coast Path Explorers need your help!

Coast Path Explorers is the Association’s exciting new project aimed at getting more schools, families and young people exploring the Coast Path.  We have been lucky to receive funding for this 18month programme and started development work in September 2017, with the aim of making a project that has a longer timescale in terms of educating young people about this amazing asset on our doorstep and learning about how to protect it for future generations.

What we are doing:

  • Developing on-line resources for use in schools and youth groups
  • Trialling out activities and resources in schools and with groups along the Path
  • Working with volunteers and partners to promote the Path to young people
  • Engaging with children and young people through competitions

Our main focus for this project for Summer 2019, is the development an interactive trail along the Coast Path at Wembury in South Devon for schools, groups and families to discover and explore this section of the Coast Path. There will be interactive and curriculum focussed resources and activities to take part in along the Path and back at home or in the classroom.

We need you!

At the Association, we know that there is already an amazing wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for our work and we need your help in making this project a success. Do you have experience in engaging with groups of young people? Are you a keen naturalist wanting to share your knowledge? Could we make use of your photography skills or your love of geocaching for example? Roles might include: supporting schools and groups undertaking activities on the Coast Path, preparing resources, supporting workshops in schools, and representing the Association at events. But, just a love of the Path and support for the Association is enough because full training and support will be given.   Please do get in touch to discuss further: [email protected]
