Having fun beside the sea for 630 miles no less!

One of our recent entries in our fun 'Beside the Sea' photo competition was sent in by Susana Temple, who explains "this is my husband and I having fun completing the South West Coast Path last month, during Easter". Here’s her story…

"We met nearly 8 years ago on a weekend away to Penzance with our group, and Bonamy helped me out of trouble leading the first walk from Land's End to Lamorna, as it was quite foggy and difficult to work out the path.

"We have since been walking the path together! Now after so many years, we went to spend 9 nights in Weymouth to complete it, and had fun paddling and hiding amongst the flowers at the fleet near Weymouth. We couldn't believe it when we saw the sign posts to South Haven Point with 2.5 miles left!

"The comical thing is the bike we found parked by the marker at the end, as I can't ride a bike! :-)

"We're thrilled we've completed the path, and can't wait to go back on the South West coast, as we'll be receiving our completion certificates at next month's AGM in Bude."

The Association's chairman presents all members that have notified us of their completion of the Coast Path in the past year with a completers certificate. Could you be one of them? Please do get in touch at [email protected]

Even if you have just started your Coast Path adventures, we would still like to hear your story. You could enter your fun seaside snaps in our Beside the Sea competition for a chance to win an ipad mini2 thanks to our sponsors South West Water. Find out how to enter by 31st May at southwestcoastpath.org.uk/besidethesea
