Club together for charity golf day on South Devon coast

Local people and businesses are invited to take part in Thurlestone Golf Club’s third annual Charity Golf Day on Friday 9th September, to fundraise for the South West Coast Path Association.

Following the success of last year’s event which raised a fantastic £2,500 for the Association, Thurlestone Golf Club are holding the charity golf day once again to continue its support for the Association’s work.

The event has been proudly sponsored by Bush & Co. and co-sponsored by Charles Stanley, with lovely prizes provided by Thurlestone Hotel and South Sands Hotel, including overnight accommodation at their acclaimed coastal hotels.

This 18-Hole Four Ball-Better-Ball Stableford Competition at just £60 per pair, including a hot two course lunch, is a great opportunity to play on this stunning golf course, with its cliff top location and breath-taking views of the legendary Thurlestone Rock to the East and the beautiful Avon Estuary and Burgh Island to the West. The Thurlestone Golf Course is a perfect example of why the South West Coast should be protected.

Shane Cann, Director of Bush & Co. says:

“Bush & Co are thrilled to be supporting the South West Coast Path Golf Day at Thurlestone. With Bush & Co being based in Exeter, we understand the importance of the Coast Path and how much enjoyment it brings to residents and tourists alike. Events such as this not only raise funds for the South West Coast Path but also awareness of the invaluable work undertaken by the South West Coast Path Association.”

Philip Greenman, Senior Branch Director of co-sponsors Charles Stanley also commented saying:

“On behalf of Charles Stanley Exeter, I am extremely pleased to be able to offer our sponsorship to the Thurlestone Charity Golf day in aid of the South West Coast Path association. It is extremely important for local business such as ours to support the vital work carried out by the Association and ensure the preservation of the historic Path so it can be enjoyed by generations to come.”

The South West Coast Path is a vital link in the tourism industry, generating more than £227 million for Devon from an estimated 3.2 million visitors to the Path.
