2011 Photo Competition Short list announced

The 2012 calendar featuring last year's winning photos

Over the summer the South West Coast Path Team has been running a competition to find the best pictures of the wonderful landscapes and wildlife found around our coastline, and of people getting out and about on the Coast Path.

We’ve now sorted through the hundreds of photos we received, and narrowed down to create a shortlist to make the final selection, and you can see these on our Flickr page.

The winning photographs will feature in the 2013 South West Coast Path calendar which will go on sale next Spring. Each month, a different stretch of the South West Coast Path is shown, to represent the entire 630 mile trail around the coast of Devon, Cornwall and Dorset, passing through Exmoor National Park, five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and two World Heritage Sites.

The 2012 calendar is on sale from the SW Coast Path Association webshop and lots of local shops (including larger branches of WH Smiths) and makes a great Christmas present.

By buying a copy you will be helping the South West Coast Path Association raise money to make the path even better. Last year’s calendar raised over £1500 which they used to help fund the construction of a new section of path at Tregantle in Cornwall, which means walkers can now avoid walking alongside the road when the Firing Range is not in use.

Thanks to our sponsors, Garmin, Cicerone Press and the South West Coast Path Association the winners will share over £1000 of prizes.
