Coast Path Golf Day raises £2,500 for the South Hams Fund

Local people and businesses took part in Thurlestone Golf Club’s second annual Charity Golf Day on Friday 11th September, to fundraise for the South West Coast Path Association and raised a staggering £2,500 thanks to the generous support of Bartons Solicitors.

The Bartons Team scooped the top prizes of luxury breaks generously donated by Thurlestone Hotel and South Sands Hotel. With only 1 point between first and fourth prize it was a close thing and great news that there were prizes for all places including;  a Spa Day for 2 people and cream tea for 2 people at The Thurlestone Hotel and rounds of golf for 4 people at Churston and Yelverton Golf Club.

Esther Pearson, Director, South West Coast Path Association said:

"Thank you to everyone for taking part and supporting this event which has enabled us to raise further grant funds and invest £170,000 in repair projects around the Coast Path in the South Hams. For information about these projects please pop in to the Thurlestone Hotel where our information boards will be displayed until the end of October or contact me [email protected] "

The South West Coast Path is a vital link in the tourism industry, generating more than £227 million for Devon from an estimated 3.2 million visitors to the path.

The event will be held once again in 2016. If you’d like more information about entering a team please contact the Manager, Steve Gledhill, at [email protected] or by telephone on 01548 560405.
